Our winery is located in the Trebbia Valley, the one that connects the Po Valley to Genua across the Ligurian Apennines. This hilly area constitutes a balanced ecosystem of vineyards alternated to woodlands and crops, making up a perfect model of biodiversity.
The gravelly soil is the most ancient of all the surrounding areas and is overlooked by majestic magmatic peaks such as the Pietra Parcellara, which stands out for its beauty.
Ortrugo and Malvasia di Candia are the two most common autochthonous vine varieties.
The breezy and crisp climate, the soil properties and the expertise of man produce grapes with unique aromas, then turned into truly authentic wines.
Fabio Bernizzoni, agronomist and collaborator of the Istituto di Frutti-Viticoltura of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Piacenza since 2002, is our consultant since 2012. We defined and shared with him the agricultural and technical choices in order to enhance the territory and its grapes.
Moreover, we are creating a sustainability protocol to reduce the environmental impact of wine making, with a direct control on the supply chain and organizing educational events for all the actors involved. His contribution eventually offers us support during the harvesting period.
